Release Me - The New Musicvideo!

"Since winning Sweden's 'Idol' in 2005, Agnes is going international with her latest album, 'Dance Love Pop.' With that comes a brand-new video for the single 'Release Me,' featuring the singer as a confident leading lady.
The clip was filmed in Long Beach, Calif. by Thomas Kloss, who's worked with the likes of Fergie and the Pussycat Dolls. -It was a great experience to shoot a video with Thomas Kloss, Agnes tells PopEater. -I have always wanted to work with him."

Agnes presents her new video at ChartRigger.

Norway: Platinum!

"Release Me" has got another certificate, this time in Norway.
It has sold over 10.000 copies, which is platinum there! "Dance Love Pop" was just released there, yesterday. Next week Agnes will be going to Norway for her first pr-visit there, she´ll be playing at the "Hard Rock Café", in "NRJ At The Club", 7th October.
The recordlabel in Norway, Bonnier Amigo Music, has high hopes for Agnes launch there. Their goal for the album, is that it´ll sell 15.000 copies!
"- Our goal is to sell 15 000 albums. It is not exactly small. But this audience is broad, it is from 10 to 40 years approximately. The album version we release is the same as in England, plus the upcoming single of her, and we have also replaced the versions of two songs. Now she has been listed on both the P1, P3, MPetre and Radio1, which is a pretty special combination. It is rare for a pop artist," said Morten Bakke product manager at Bonnier Amigo.

"- From the first day we will drive marketing on TV3. When she has had a big hit now, prisoners the such a large and broad audience. This is music for everything from youth to housewives who listen to the radio, and down to very young girls.
-7th October she will come to Oslo, where she among other things, will have a showcase in collaboration with NRJ at the Hard Rock Café. She will be here to the day after this time, but we're working on a long-term plan, with several TV shows," reveals Bakke.

Holland: 3rd Single - I Need You Now

Some weeks ago i posted news about "Love Love Love" probably being the 3rd single in Holland, since it started to get played on one of Hollands radiostations. But it won´t be that song, it will be "I Need You Now", also the 2nd single in UK. If it´s the same remix as in the UK or not is not clear. It´ll probably be the same version as in the UK. Any releasedate isn´t official yet.

"Sur Et Sur"

When Agnes released "Release Me" as the lead single in France, she recorded an half french/ half english version of the song, called "Réalise". Now the follow-up "On And On" will get the same treatment! If you translate the titel, you get "Sur Et Sur". This version will go to radio next monday! Even though the original "Release Me" was more popular in France, this is a great way to give Agnes some extra promo in France. "On And On" has already been picked up by France biggest radiostation; NRJ.
Listen to the wonderful "Réalise" below:

Sweden: Gothia Cup & Radioplay

Earlier this summer Agnes performed at the Gothia Cup opening cermony, here in Sweden, Gothenburg. She sang "Release Me" and made some fierce powerwalking! You can now see the whole performance above.
Nielsen Music Control has announced the 10 most played songs in Swedish radio, so far this year. Agnes has both "On And On" at #6 and "Release Me" at #9, on the top10! Even though both these songs were released last year, they obvoiously still get much airplay.
And thats not all.. This week "Release Me" has re-entried the swedish singleschart at #44, after not being on the chart for over 6 months! This is thanks to Swedish "Idol 2009" that played the song during one of the audition episodes.

Australia: Finally some buzz!

After being out for more than 2 months in Australia, "Release Me" is finally starting to get some buzz there. Since it´s release, it´s been on the top100 Itunes mostly between places 50-80. But the last week it´s climbed in to the top50 and has so far peaked at #35. (#40 right now)
And this week it was 14 places outside the top50 singleschart, at 64 with 1.135 sold copies.
Since it debuted on the Australian ARIA top100 singleschart on July 27, it has sold 7.408 copies in total!
Hopefully it´ll climb higher on Itunes, and enter the singleschart soon!

A funny thing, one of Agnes´older songs has actually been a top5 hit in the Australian singleschart!
"Love is all around" from Agnes´2nd album "Stronger", where covered by several aritists, amongst others Australian Idol alumni; Ricki Lee Coulter, who had a pretty huge hit with the song in Australia.

I Need You Now - My thoughts (Part 2)

When i first heard that "I Need You Now" would be the 2nd single in the UK, i was a bit negative, to say the least. I thought it were the worste possible choice they could make! But when i realised they would make a new version of it, i felt a bit better about the whole thing. And on friday when i got to hear the new version, i was happily surprised of how it sounded! Now, when i have heard it about 20-30 times i can say that i absolutely love it! The "ohoh", the magical strings and Agnes flawless vocals is just perfection. But even though i like it so much, i still think "On And On", "Love Love Love" & "Love Me Senseless" would have all been better choices.
But will "I Need You Now" be a huge hit? As huge as "Release Me" was? Hard to say. I think it´s a good follow-up to "Release Me", it´s similar but not too similar. The reactions for the new mix in forums and such, has been very positive, in general. Some say it´s even better than "Release Me". And according to the latest poll on this site, most of you followers love it!
It´s also a good sign that Radio1 already played it, at least in "FloorFillers".
I´m trying not to get my hopes up, but i really think it should go top10, at least!
A really great musicvideo to it would be nice. It´s not known if it´s already been shooted or not.
The musicvideo Agnes shooted in mid-july, about 2 months ago, were thought to be for "On And On", but this has never been officially confirmed.. But it shouldn´t take long until we get to see it, because the musicvideo for "Release Me" went to UK musicvideo-channels more than 2 months before it´s release.
The only problem for me right now, is the releasedate. More than 2 months left is too much!
Last but not least, this song is a grower. Aren´t you feeling it yet? Listen to it some more, and i´m sure you´ll like it more and more! You can now listen to the full song, in the Musicplayer.

I Need You Now: Premiered!

The UK Remix of "I Need You Now" was premiered earlier tonight at BBC radio 1´s show "Floorfillers".
The DJ Scott Mills, described the song as "amazing"!
After hearing it a couple of times, i like it! I´ll share more thoughts when i get to listen to it more.
Listen to the UK remix of "I Need You Now" (after 32 min) and the show here.

I have added the remix in the musicplayer, down in the column to the right! Thanks to "Blade" for recording!

I Need You Now - My thoughts

Well i have to say, a couple of days ago i was really disappointed with this selection of the 2nd single in the UK. I thought Agnes were doomed, by this. But i have actually changed my mind about the whole thing.
Even though i think "I Need You Now" is the weakest song on the album, it´s still an amazing song! And the UK version will not be like the original at all, it´ll be more up-tempo but it will still have the beautiful strings. Someone has said that it will be a dance mix of the song.
This is good news, since i think the original is too slow to be a big hit. This also shows that the UK-label want to show Agnes versitility, by choosing a different kind of song.
But i still don´t think it will be as huge as "Release Me" (or as "On And On" would have been), but i´m hoping for it to at least reach the top10 in the singlechart.
What happened to the new song/songs is still a mystery, hopefully we´ll get more info about them later on.
I still think the releasedate is terrible though, 16th November, it´s a long time since "Release Me" were released. I really think October would be a much better time to release it!
At least it should be released to radio and Tv sometime in October.
Well, i´m very excited to hear how the new version will sound like, how the musicvideo will look like and what they come up with for the cover.

Release Me - Behind the scenes of the new musicvideo - Article

Agnes borrows from - Britney
Here starts the Swedish star's U.S. career
LONG BEACH. Here is where Agnes Carlsson record her first foreign video.
"Nojesbladet" was there when the 21-year-old singer added the foundation for what will be her springboard into the U.S. market.
- "Idol" feels very far away right now, says the Vanersborg girl who won the contest 2005.

It is the middle of the night.
We are in an abandoned port warehouse far out on Terminal Island in Long Beach.
The lighting is dim. The locale represents a blackclub.
Agnes is in the middle of the dance floor in a glittering dress.
Behind her, she has about 30 dancers and extras. From the speakers roar "Release Me", which is her debut song in the U.S.

Another 50 persons are involved in the production.
- It's unbelievable. Here their is one person to each job. It is so professional, says Agnes.
There was already a video recorded in Sweden.
But it was rejected by the American label, Interscope.
- She looked too grown up - as 28, says director Thomas Kloss, Austria, which previously made "Bottle Pop" for the Pussycat dolls.

Therefore, he has borrowed from the early Britney. In a scene where Agnes is singing in the recording studio, she has a ponytail.
- Now she looks like she is 20. It feels both hip and fun and fit the audience better, he says.

New images of the break
Agnes seems to have no objection.
The broad smile that rests between takes on her lips was not affected by the fact that she's already been here for eight hours.
- I do not feel tired, she assured.
- It's just fun.
Not even when it's recording pause, she may be left in peace. A promotional photograph dragging away her to a corrugated, rusty tin wall.
He gets her to pose in various positions and take the picture image on the image.

"Can relax"
- Stop it now, cry Kloss while the camera and camera trolley rails are moved to a new position.
- She needs to rest. She has several hours of work ahead of her. She will be completely exhausted.
In the makeup trailer later Agnes reflects the turnaround her life has taken.
- It's the first time I am in Los Angeles and now I get to work with the best in the industry. I feel like I just can relax and concentrate on what I should do.

Contracts worth £ 7 million (1 million dollars)
  • As "Nojesbladet" previously disclosed Agnes has signed a contract with the world's largest record company, Interscope and Geffen.
  • According to "Nojesbladet", she gets more than seven million in so-called "signing bonus.
  • The agreement means that she will launch in North America and Japan.
  • The focus on the Swedish singer has already launched in the U.S.
  • The song "Release Me" has been released to clubs and is available on iTunes. 16th September will be the debut of the video.
  • The Japanese market will have to wait until next year.

UK: Next single - I Need You Now

The next UK single is "I Need You Know" and will be released on 16th November. There will be a new version, plus remixes. It´s written by Anders Hansson and Sharon Vaughn, who also wrote "Release Me" together with Agnes.
According to wikipedia, it will also be released in Sweden.
This is sadly not a joke. I can´t see why they have made this choice, it´s actually the worste one in my opinion. Even though i think it´s a great song, but it´s not a hit-single. Also, Agnes is being promoted as a disco-diva, and "I Need You Now" is far from disco! And to release it so late? That´s just stupid, it´s a half year after "Release Me" were released.
I can´t understand what they are thinking with! I feel like this is the end in the UK for Agnes, she have had major success with "Release Me", but "I Need You Now" is going to flop.
I always thought the new single would be one of the brand new songs Agnes has recorded, but for some strange reason it isn´t.
Well let´s focus on the US & the rest of Europe now, thanks to UK for this time.
But i´m still hoping for the best, maybe it will go better than i think, time will tell!

Release Me - Gets a new musicvideo!

For the US release of "Release Me" the single got a brand new cover, and now it´s getting a brand new musicvideo too! I have to admit i´m pretty surprised, beacuse the original "Release Me" video has worked just fine in Europe, and is in my opinion fantastic! But then again, according to the latest article in "Aftonbladet" Agnes got 1 million dollars from Interscope/Geffen Records!
The video has apperantly been shooted in Los Angeles today! According to sources the video is centered around a danceparty.
Seems like they are thinking about everything, wich must be a good sign.
Below you can see the original musicvideo, that almost have 8 million views on YouTube!
