UK: Flop And Flop?!

"On And On" has been out in the UK for almost 24 hours now, but things aren´t looking that good... As i´m typing, it is sitting at #363 and #264 on Itunes. The EP is at #142. Even though it has climbed steadily all day, it´s far away from even the top 100 right now. But it isn´t really a big surprise, without any radio airplay at all, it´s expected to flop. But why did it not get any radio support at all? It weren´t even discussed at Radio1´s playlist meetings. It´s had some tv airplay, but not nearly enough! And the promo has been very limited, with only 1 tv-performance so far. But is there any hope? Well for starters, she´s performing on "The David Dickinson Show" on wednesday, and later this month she´ll be doing 2 club gigs, "Flamingo" in Blackpool the 29th and "The Late Lounge" in Mansfield the 30th. But i´m doubting this will help much. As it looks now, top 100 is not in sight, for "On And On". Such a shame for Agnes, "On And On" and "Dance Love Pop".

  1. Yes exactly Tommy, little promo and no airplay, why!?

  2. It must be something going on "behind the scenes"... I mean, since BBC Radio 1 refuses to even discuss it on their playlist meetings... It smells like a conflict of some kind... And Agnes long stay in US may have played some role. She can't promote in UK being in US...

Overall, the UK label has made mistake after mistake after mistake... and too sloooow!

  3. Exactly! And when i talked with Agnes uk "manager" on twitter last year, he told me that they weren´t worried about Radio1 not playing Agnes since they "loved her".
It´s almost crazy when you think about it, first Release Me then INYN 6 MONTHS LATER, and after that OAO another 6 MONTHS LATER!! Even if she were in the US, they could´ve released it before that.
But it seems like the new version isn´t a "radio song" because it seems like it´s going to flop in Germany too, release now on friday and nowhere to be seen on the airplay charts... Sigh!

They just really need to shape up! Release a new single right away and do what they can, at least that would show that they haven´t given up on her yet!

  4. I don't know why they are acting so strangely. Perhaps they want too much, but they can't cope (not enough competence).
The HUGE mistake was to chose INYN after RM - the jumbo song on DLP according to ALL POLLS - for prestige only as it seems. They wouldn't listen to the fans. "That would be demeaning", they think. That's the attitude they have according to the UK diskussion forums.

I long for a complete new album from Agnes!
