The leadsingle "Release Me" has been a big hit in all 3 countries. Yesterday it went up to #3 at German Itunes, and is right now sitting at #5. It´s also climbing fast in the airplay charts, at #17 in all 3 countries this week.
On Itunes the album is right now on #66 in Switzerland, #50 in Austria and #33 in Germany.
Earlier this week, the album were released in Finland & Norway. It´s also been released in Belgium, Italy, Poland, Denmark & France. It´ll be released in Holland next (this month) & Ireland+UK 7th December.

ReplyDeleteWell, unlike I Need You Now, which I thought was the least good track on DLP, I really like the original version of Big Blue Wall, so I don´t really see where they got the idea to change it to an uptempo. That said, I have to admit it´s rather catchy! So I can´t really say it was a bad move. Thanks for making it available here Tommy!

Anyway it´s very interesting, and it is a fantastic song in both versions.

I'm gutted about the new version of Big Blue Wall.
ReplyDeleteAs a ballad is was spine-tingling...and also quite contemporary, so I don't see what their problem with it was. In remixing it, it now just sounds like a poor imitation of Release Me, and actually quite dated.
I understand what they did with I Need You Now, which sounds pretty good now in my opinion, but what is the problem with having a ballad or two on the album? Are they just trying to turn her into another Cascada or something?!
Peter D: I can understand why you feel this way. But at the same time, they still have the original version on the album, so it´s still there, just + this new version.
ReplyDeleteThey probably don´t want to release a ballad, because that would "ruin" the "Discoqueen" status. So they remade Big Blue Wall, but i really like this version actually, even though it´s very similar to Release Me.
yeah, it is similiar, but we are not sure it will be a single, it's possible, but who knows. Mayby after OAO here in Belgium, but On and On doesn't sound like Release Me, so when BBW is released here, it will be different than the previous single.

Moreno: You´re right, but i would be surprised if it wouldn´t be a single, since they hav remade it, and also put it as the first song on the tracklist. But i guess it would only be in those 3 german countries. Only time will tell!

I suppose they're very eager to keep her status as a "disco queen" as you put it. I'm just a bit disappointed that this is the version of the song that most people will know, as the original gives me goosebumps!

Really eager to hear "You Rain"...it sounds from the 30 second clip like it should have a big build up with a gospel choir at the end of it LOL I hope I'm not disappointed!
Peter D: Yeah, i agree with that. But we still don´t know for sure if this will be released as a sinlge, and if it is - it will probably just be in those 3 countries. Because in the other countries where Dance Love Pop has already been released, the new version isn´t included, so who knows, maybe they will go with the original somewhere else? Only time will tell :)
