One week to go! Finally it´s time for Agnes to make her huge comeback after the success of her last album, "Dance Love Pop". With the first single "Don´t Go Breaking My Heart" Agnes is set to have another smash worldwide. The 1st single from the new album is released 21st September in Scandinavia. The musicvideo was shoot on Monday, with Mikadelica as director.(More on that later)

On Saturday Agnes´performed a new song called "When You Tell The World You´re Mine" as a duet with Bjorn Skifs, at Sweden´s Crown Princess Victorias wedding! The song is written by Jorgen Elofsson & John Lundvik, and was a gift to Victoria from Prince Daniel. The single is part of the official wedding series. The album with the studio version, the live version & the instrumental version + other wedding songs is on the album "When You tell The World You´re Mine" exclusively being sold in Sweden at ICA, starting today! Part of the takings will go to the Crown Princess´s wedding foundation, wich purpose is to counteract exclusion and promote good health amongst children and youth in Sweden. The single is also aviable as a download across Europe on Itunes! In Sweden the song is already #1 on Itunes, congratulations to Bjorn & Agnes! Download it from Itunes.

On July 31st the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 will have it´s opening ceremony at the RheinEnergieStadion. Over 10,000 athletes from 70 different countries will participate.
Agnes will both take part at the Opening Ceremony and also be one of the performing artists at the opening party in the Lanxess Arena. Agnes´ 2nd single in Germany, "On And On" were released a couple weeks ago, and has so far peaked at #41 in the singleschart. It haven´t been getting much radio support so far, and is nowhere to see in the German Itunes top 200 at the moment..
"Release Me" sold over 150.000 copies, giving it a gold certificate in Germany! Read more about the opening ceremony here.

Next Saturday on June 19th, there´s a royal wedding in Agnes´ home country, Sweden. It´s the crown princess Victoria & her husbend to be, Daniel, who´s getting married. This is a HUGE deal in Sweden, every media is watching everything about it like hawks. Everything about the wedding ceremony, is top secret, but today some news leaked to the Swedish media. Agnes will perform a duett with Bjorn Skifs in the church on the actual wedding ceremony! They will perform a newly written song, by Jorgen Elofsson, who also worked with Agnes on her debut album. The song is said to be a powerful loveballad, something in "Beyoncé style". It will aslo be released on CD after the wedding. Stay tuned for more info. How exciting!

So finally, after 1 year of the mega success in UK, Agnes´ album "Dance Love Pop", is released! But sadly neither of the two follow up singles after "Release Me" managed to continue the success. "I Need You Now" were released a half year after "Release Me", 6 months! And even though it got radio support it only peaked at #40. And when they finally came to their sences and released "On And On", the obvious follow up to "Release Me", they waited another 6 months! Yesterday it were confirmed that "On And On" landed at #82 in the UK singles chart. But this was with no radio support, at all! I can´t imagine the album will do anything in the UK charts, at this moment. Right now i think we can only hope they make some changes when the next album comes out.. But a new single from "Dance Love Pop"? Well, if there will be, i guess we have to wait another 6 months! Download the album from Itunes or buy it from Amazon or HMV.

You can download it from German Itunes or buy it from Amazon. "Release Me" manage to sell over 150.000 copies, giving it a gold certificate in Germany! On Thursday Agnes performed live on "VIVA Live" and later tonight she will appear on "Willkommen Bei Mario Barth" on RTL, 22.30. "On And On" is right now #105 on German Itunes.

UK: Flop And Flop?!

"On And On" has been out in the UK for almost 24 hours now, but things aren´t looking that good... As i´m typing, it is sitting at #363 and #264 on Itunes. The EP is at #142. Even though it has climbed steadily all day, it´s far away from even the top 100 right now. But it isn´t really a big surprise, without any radio airplay at all, it´s expected to flop. But why did it not get any radio support at all? It weren´t even discussed at Radio1´s playlist meetings. It´s had some tv airplay, but not nearly enough! And the promo has been very limited, with only 1 tv-performance so far. But is there any hope? Well for starters, she´s performing on "The David Dickinson Show" on wednesday, and later this month she´ll be doing 2 club gigs, "Flamingo" in Blackpool the 29th and "The Late Lounge" in Mansfield the 30th. But i´m doubting this will help much. As it looks now, top 100 is not in sight, for "On And On". Such a shame for Agnes, "On And On" and "Dance Love Pop".

"Swedish Idol winner Agnes Carlsson takes the U.S. by storm.
She was the winner of Swedish Idol back in 2005 and now Agnes Carlsson, mononymously known as Agnes, is finally taking her career over to the States. Propelled by her chart topping single "Release Me," the 22-year-old chanteuse is certainly showing no signs of slowing down. Bay Windows got the chance to sit down and talk to the Swedish pop superstar over the phone. She discusses her time stateside, meeting Britney Spears, and her growing gay fan base.

Bay Windows: Hello, Agnes! It’s such a pleasure to talk with you. Where are you currently?
Agnes: Hello! I am currently in New York City, doing press for my single "Release Me," On Thursday I’m doing the Wendy Williams Show, and just a lot of promotion.

BW: How has the US been treating you? I understand you’re on a promotional tour.
A: You know, I’ve been having a wonderful time and it’s been really fun. I’ve been performing a lot in clubs. We were just in Palm Springs for [Jeffery Sanker’s] White Party a couple of days ago, and that was really amazing.

BW: I understand Britney Spears was there.
A: Yes! [laughs] I didn’t know she was coming. I met her, like, ten minutes before I went on stage. I was like, "Oh! Hello!"

BW: Are you just here to promote "Release Me" or are you promoting another single as well?
A: Right now we’re just promoting "Release Me," but when I do interviews and you know, morning shows, I played my songs acoustically, and on those shows I did my single, "Release Me," "On & On," and "Sometimes I Forget."

BW: What has been the highlight of your career so far?
A: Hmm...a lot of things have been happening. But it was a while ago, we were in Morocco, I had never been there before, but I knew I was performing. I asked the people who were working the show "How many people are coming?" and they told me, "a couple hundred thousand." The next day I went and 200,000 people were there, screaming my name. It was really wonderful, I had never been to Morocco before and they all knew who I was and the words to my songs! [laughs]

BW: Do you have any plans to release "Dance Love Pop" here in the U.S.?
A: Right now we’re just releasing "Release Me," I think now we’re going to release it to all the radio stations. That’s what I do right now, I just do a lot of promotion for that. Then I’m going to Europe, and then I’m coming back to record some new songs. I have already released the album in Sweden, but I think we’re going to change it with the new songs.

BW: Is it going to be very different from "Dance Love Pop"?
A: I don’t know yet! [laughs] It depends on how many good new songs we’re going to record.

BW: Who are you recording with? Any big names?
A: Actually, we’ve been talking about that right now, so I haven’t decided exactly, but the guy I wrote "Release Me" with [Swedish record producer Anders] Hansson. So I hope to work with him some more.

BW: "Release Me" was number one on the dance/club songs chart. How did you feel when you received that news?
A: You know, it was so fun. The last time I was here doing promotion, the second day I was here, they told me I was number one on the dance Billboard charts. So that was really, you know...when you work a lot, to hear that kind of stuff, it gives me more motivation to keep recording.

BW: Who has influenced you musically over the years?
A: I’ve always listened to Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, and Robyn.

BW: How about now? Who are some artists that you admire?
A: I really like La Roux, and Gossip, I don’t know if you know them, but they’re really good. [Lead singer] Beth [Ditto] is really crazy and wonderful.

BW: Who would you like to work with in the future?
A: I would love to do a duet with Justin Timberlake, and work with [the Black Eyed Peas’] will.i.am.

BW: You have a strong gay fan base; do you have any words for them?
A: It’s been so amazing here in the U.S. and also everywhere I go, when I go and play for a gay audience, they’re just so lovely and give you so much energy and love, I’d just like to say that and that I really appreciate that they like my music and like what I do

Agnes shoot her 11th musicvideo on tuesday this week!
Her stylist, Angelina Jolin writes about it:

"Agnes looking absolutely gorgeous, in vintage 40-ies peach silkrobe and Swarowski crystal jewelry. Props from Stockholms classic perfume store Eivy Flodin. I was so impressed by make up and hair stylist Mattias Stafsing, straight from NYC BoomBoom Room…not only is he stunning, former exmodel….he is so professional and talented. Me and Sofie and Victoria changed the look for three times, couture dress by Trash Couture and mink fur by Marlene Birger. Agnes always energetic and in a peppy mood, even though…we spent 18 hours on set….. Gothenburg based Director Torbjorn Martin with Stark, looked like a spanish Picasso model.This song will be a St Tropez hit this summer for sure, Sometimes I Forget"

UK: The On And On release...

The new musicvideo will be premiered this week! Watch AATW´s official youtube channel for it. But actually it´s not a total new musicvideo... It´s the latest video with some added scenes/shots, and according to sources "much improved"... Full promo will start this week, but the release date will obviously be delayed. It seems like it´ll get a release late April/early May. And therefor the album has been pushed back to April 26th. Fingers crossed it won´t be too late!

In other news, Agnes is now off to the US, for 2 MONTHS of promo!We can also read on the Scandipop twitter that "the new Agnes album is shaping up well - with Anders Hansson & Sharon Vaughn (composers of "Release Me") working on the majority of it". Exciting times!

"Buzy days...
Agnes is going on a major world tour, and she needs a lot of wardrobe, so we are having fun getting a lot of great stuff together here in Stockholm, three tailors are working on stage pieces, I will tell you more...
..and we have been pulling great scandinavian fashion from spring 2010, from Marlene Birger, Whyred, HM, April77, KIMA and Dagmar. We need some great jewelery and sunglasses so we are looking at Agnes favorite jewelry brand Rebecca, Mi Lajki, corsets and lingerie possibly from Kirsi Nisonen and dutch company Marlies Dekker. We might get some great luxury pieces, from the store Les Chambres, where Yvonne, the owner, has handpicked the best of fashions, D Square denim, Pinkos great dresses and pants, fab jewelry, and shoes, and lifestylepieces such as books, candles, duffle bags, great florist, and hair dresser-in house and a cafe to reflect what you really need to buy! Snowstorm in Stockholm now so I will stay in...spagetti carbonara comming up!"

After some months home in Sweden, Agnes is now starting her promotion tour around the world. Australia, Morocco, US and first Norway is on the schedule. Tomorrow, friday, Agnes will be performing at the "Gullfisken Award" in Oslo Norway, @ Tv2 7.30pm. "Gullfisken" is an award show for 2009´s best commercials, where the viewers get to vote for their favourite commercial, which wins the "Gullfisken award". Sweden: Best dressed!

Yesterday Swedish fashion magazine ELLE held an award gala in Stockholm, to hand out 16 awards in fashion world. Who else but our Agnes won the "Best dressed artist of the year" category! As you can see on the picture below, she truly deserves this award. A big congratulations to Agnes! I have a feeling that she will surpass herself this year.

France: New single - Sometimes I Forget

It seems like it´s time for a 3rd single in France! Even though they haven´t released the 2nd one yet..

Well "On And On" were released, but only as a dwonload, and it seems like it won´t get a CD-single release in France either, even though the 1st single "Release Me" has spent 26 weeks on the french singles chart!
A new edition of "Dance Love Pop", called Collectors Edition were released in France on the 18tt January. According to this website, quite surprisingly the 3rd single in France will be "Sometimes I Forget". It´s a ballad, and a great one, but there are several stronger tracks on "Dance Love Pop" - "Love Love Love", "Love Me Senseless", "I Need You Now", "Big Blue Wall".. But it´s really an interesting choice, let´s hope they´ll do a video for it and maybe even a french version of the song, like "Réalise" & "On Se Donne".
The track is written by Anders Hansson, Steve Diamond & Agnes herself. No official releasedate yet.

And on the official website Agnes confirmes it´s a 3rd video for "On And On". The picture above is from the video shoot, and i think it looks very "Lara Croft", how exciting!
A 3rd video may seem a bit strange, but it definetly shows they have high hopes for it´s UK release. I´m guessing this means it´ll be a different version of the song too. But i wonder how long they can wait, i´m afraid the UK audience are forgetting about Agnes at the moment..
The 2nd video for "On And On" were also shooted in Gothenburg, July last year, check it out below.

It´s quit around Agnes for the moment. In an interview with Swedish newspaper ttela, Agnes say that she´ll be taking it easy and relaxing in January. In February there´ll be a lot of planning for this year, to plan promotion in US & Europe. But for right now there´s not a lot going on with Agnes, at least that´s "public".
In UK the album has been pushed back, once again, to March 29th. A right move, since they haven´t managed to release the 3rd single "On And On", yet. The lates reports said it would be released in end of February, but still there´s no sign of any radio or tv airplay. According the latest rumours the UK label, 3BeatBlue, are waiting for a brand new video for "On And On":
"We are waiting for the licensor (Roxy Music in Sweden) to deliver a new video, once that is delivered we will be able to confirm a release date."
Hm, a 3rd musicvideo for "On And On"? Nothing confirmed yet though, but it sounds very strange. IN that case it has to be a new version, and i don´t know how i feel about that.The smartest thing to do right now, would be to release the Moonwalker version of "On And On", and promote it like crazy! But as always only time will tell how everything will work out.
